Hi Kate, I've been meaning to write a nice long rambling letter but I have been swamped at work and at home. I enjoyed the book very much especially now that I'm a published blurbist. I love the tradition Maggie started about each boarder telling their story to the other boarders. What a wonderful method of exposition. I've read a lot of trilogies and bigger where the author devoted most of the book to filling in the background of the various characters. Even harder to slog through were the catch up phases from one volume to the next. There has to be some or the story wouldn't make any sense but too much exposition really slows the pace down. I think you found just the right amount. I await your next book.

OH ! Kate! Kate! I just finished Prairie Hamlet: Riverâ??s Edge! What a wonderful continuation from Prairie Hamlet: Mollyâ??s Place! I simply could not put it down. I need more, Kate, more! The individual stories of the characters leave me weeping, smiling, and be just amazed. The current situations leave me on the edge of a precipice - - what happens next! Excellent read! Waiting for the next installment!

I'm a student from Youngker. You may not remember me. I was the taller blonde girl that came up to you at the end and told you about the book I just finished. I really have to agree with everything you told us. Especially about editting. I hate grammer and spelling. They drive me up the wall. I also agree with what you said about alter egos. You do, as an author, have to embrace them. Trust me, I have several. I really enjoyed you telling us about you new book today. I've read the description of the book and between that and what you told us about it, I pretty much decided I'm going to love it and will probably buy it soon. Thank you again for coming out to our school. Not only did I love you, and what you told us, but I also missed my second period (my most boring class)!!! thanks!!!!
